1999 Audubon Conservation Awards


All-around community activist Frank O’Brien (right) is given the Audubon Conservation Award by YES! Director Jess Morton. Aileen Bevan (left) accepts the Audubon Education Award from Lillian Light for her work as leader of the George F. Canyon education program. Ann Lynch thanks her super volunteer, Christina Jones, as she receives an award from Jess Morton for wildlife rehabilitation.
Chadwidk science teacher Martin Byhower with his team of YES! Award winners: Jeuwon Khwarg, Max Schmid, Guyton Durnin and Alison Adachi. President Bart Tendick receives big bucks from Bob Sherman, owner of Wild Birds Unlimited and leader of one of the chapter’s three birdathon teams.
Rahil Patronas, a graduating senior from Redondo Union High, is honored with the Youth Conservation Award.
State Senator Debra Bowen receives Audubon’s Appreciation Award and high praise from Lillian Light. Students from Chadwick, Narbonne, Peninsula, Redondo, and San Pedro High Schools received their YES! Awards for outstanding community service work.
